Coaching for an Extraordinary Life

Erika Gillette has been coaching adults and students through major transitions and personal change since 2004. In 2016, she left university teaching to start her own private coaching practice. More than 2,500 coaching hours later, Erika is a credentialed professional ADHD coach with specialized training in partnership, time management, and personal leadership. She offers a toolbox full of ways to thrive and balance the expectations of others against the need for flexibility, passion, and variety in life.

Erika has visited 21 countries and 3 continents; climbed above 15,000 feet; run two 1/2 marathons, moved her home 29 times (that’s a lot of U-Hauls), and piloted her own sailboat, scooter, motorcycle, horse, mule, golf cart, single-engine airplane, glider, tractor, and skateboard. Not all of those adventures were fun, and most of them changed her life somehow—which is how she can, with a straight face, tell you the truth: Change is coming. Be brave anyway.

Erika is also the author of Just Keep Going: An Analog System for Managing Change, which you can learn about here.

Neurodiversity Insights
and a Certified ADHD Coaching Lens

In 2020, Erika expanded the Adventura Coaching practice to include new specialty training in ADHD coaching, time management, and executive function skills coaching at the ADHD Coaching Academy, the first training program accredited by both the International Coaching Federation and the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC). She holds an advanced PCAC certification from PAAC and the ADHD Coaching Academy’s ACCG designation.

The struggles with planning, time-management, emotional regulation, self-awareness, overwhelm and other challenges that are typical for ADD’ers are pressures that affect all of us at times, and this specialized training offers tools to make progress more joyful.

Whether or not you think you or someone close to you may have ADHD traits, these powerful strategies for success will help you thrive while balancing the expectations of others against the need for flexibility, joy, and passion in your work.

Dynamic Discovery and Mentorship

Mentorship and teaching have always been a family way of life for Erika—both of her parents (“Doc and Gracie”) were college educators and mental health providers. In 2024, in anticipation of new ICF and PAAC certifications (PCC and PCAC), Erika is building new programs at Adventura to mentor and launch more highly skilled and confident ADHD coaches, while she continues to serve a select number of cherished clients each week.

AS a college administrator, Erika designed and ran a nationally-recognized academic mentoring program at Sierra Nevada College that continues to support and motivate at-risk college students into entrepreneurs, leaders, and world explorers. She has also designed college- and job-readiness courses for Sierra Nevada College, The State of Nevada, the Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow, and the Saylor Institute (now Open University), and is a graduate of the Fundamentals of College Counseling program at Rice University.

As a faculty member, she developed an active learning curriculum that attracted business and science students to hands-on courses in Art Literacy! Prior to that, she began her professional career in education at the University of Texas, Austin, where she mentored varsity athletes to discover their academic and personal potential.

Erika holds a bachelor's degree from Tulane University and a master's degree from the University of Texas, Austin. She also completed an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction in 2017.

We take training seriously and you should too.

A skilled, certified ADHD coach has spent hundreds of hours learning from senior coaches and maybe thousands of hours coaching other neurodiverse people like you. That could make the difference between getting more of the same bad advice  from a regular “life coach” that won’t work for you and finally feeling seen and understood. We get you. Ask us anything you want about these little badges. We’re proud of them.
